Aloe Cleaner finds duplicates, similar shots, screenshots and large videos in your photo library. All of that analysis runs on your device, using Apple's Vision framework, which is part of iOS itself.
We do not upload your original photos or videos to a server for analysis. The app creates local previews to display your library. Session recording is described below.
The app reads your photo library only while you are using it, and only to produce the results you see on screen.
Aloe never deletes anything on its own. You review each group and choose what goes. The deletion itself is performed by iOS, which shows its own confirmation dialog.
Deleted items move to the Recently Deleted album in Photos, where iOS keeps them for 30 days before removing them permanently. During those 30 days you can restore anything from the Photos app. After that we cannot recover them, and neither can Apple.
We collect usage events and diagnostics to understand whether the app works: screens opened, scan progress and summary counts, actions taken in the app, purchase events and crash reports. These records may be linked through app user and device identifiers. Versions before 1.0.3 may use Microsoft Clarity to record sessions and interactions with the app interface. Depending on the app version and masking applied, session recordings may include visible photo previews. Photo analysis itself remains on your device.
The app does not require registration with a name, email address or phone number. If you contact support, we receive the information you choose to include in your message.
The services used may vary by app version. Versions before 1.0.3 include AppsFlyer; version 1.0.3 does not include that SDK and does not initialize Clarity session recording.

Apphud supplies an app user identifier that the app also passes to Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics and Amplitude, and to AppsFlyer and Microsoft Clarity in versions before 1.0.3. These services may use their own device or installation identifiers. The identifiers are pseudonymous: they can link records from your use of the app and do not make those records anonymous. Reinstalling the app does not guarantee that all identifiers or previously collected records reset.
Aloe Pro is sold through Apple. Payment is handled entirely by the App Store: we never see your card number, billing address or Apple ID password. We and our subscription and analytics providers process subscription status and purchase-related information, including product identifiers and purchase and trial events.
Aloe Cleaner is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Deleting the app stops further collection by that installed app. It does not automatically delete records already held by service providers.
If this policy changes, the updated version appears on this page with a new date at the top. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
